Up among the Santa Ynez mountains you can practice surrounded by nature and looking down onto Santa Barbara, the Pacific Ocean, and the channel islands. Every single review (although only about 11 in total) on this retreat center has been excellent. The accommodations are either yurts or cabins and are shared between 3 people, or you may camp on their property. The bathrooms are shared and there are shower houses. There is an option for private but it costs quite a bit more. The schedule is the typical morning meditation or hike. Followed by an asanas class and breakfast. You have free time and lunch then another yoga class at 4:30pm, then dinner. Evening entertainment is music presentations or yoga philosophy discussions.White Lotus Foundation retreat Center has been open since 1967, they have a long and successful history.
