The Surf Goddess surf and yoga retreats have been around for 10 years. They have a retreat center dedicated to hosting yoga and surf retreats, located down a secluded and private lane. It’s a 750m walk to the beach and breaking waves. Again these retreats are for women, if you didn't get that from the Goddess. A little extra is a cycling tour through Bali- sounds like fun! The surf lessons are taught by professionals over at Rip Curl Surf School. An onsite spa welcomes you too. Guests and staff are warm and friendly, but thats Bali for you!
Location: Seminyak, Bali- please note that although Surf Goddess is a surfing retreat it is not located right on the beach.
Dates: Ongoing and begin every Friday and run until Thursday.
Prices: $2795-$3995 (wide variety of accommodations available)
Average number of guests: 12, Sometimes you can hit the jackpot and end up with only 1 other guest!! In which case they will upgrade accommodations for you.
Food: Most of the food is provided and yummy however 3 dinner and 2 lunches you are on your own. Snacks are not provided. All guests loved the fresh food.
Instruction: Rip Curl Surf school does a great job and everyone raves about how awesome the time spent with them is. The surfing classes were the biggest highlight for almost all the guest reviews.
Notes: Tonnes of spa treatments are included and available til 10pm at a night! What a great way to get ready for sleep!
Reviews: WOW! again we have outstanding reviews! Out of 98 reviews they have 98.5%. All the staff make you feel like family, very professional great rooms and food. This may seem silly but I was impressed with how they responded to every single review on trip advisor. Most retreat centers only take the time to respond to the negative comments… Great service! Some people feel that things were a little overpriced here, as comparitively Bali is a very cheap place to vacation. grounds are well kept. Staff are happy, accommodating and genuine! Great balance between activity and relaxation. Every guest felt pampered and spoiled!
Update fall 2015: They're still sitting pretty with 150 reviews and a 5/5! Perhaps a tad bit better maintenance/house keeping is needed and a larger yoga shala. great experience for solo travellers.
