Small Luxury Yoga Retreats

Maia Resort and Spa, Mahe Island SEZ, Seychelles, Africa

This will give you a hint of what is in store for your stay- you have a butler. Yes, a butler. They don’t have reception (because they want the sense of privacy to be maintained). Instead,  they have a butler there who is appointed to you and takes care of your every need. Before you even arrive there is a questionnare for you to fill out, so they can determine your preferences when it comes to music, flowers, etc. The hill top villas boast a beautiful view and unparallelled privacy. You can really let your guard down here. The dining here can be served in your villa or if you’d prefer you can go to either their Tec Tec restaurant or the poolside bar. Unlike many places they encourage you to ask for something that isn’t on the menu, as they specialize in custom tailoring the retreat to your tastes. The Yoga available here is either a group setting or can be a private class. They teach Hatha yoga. They also delve into the meditation side of things and do also teach Qi Gong. And then there is the spa... oh my. This is something you need to experience to believe. In 2012 Maia Resort and Spa won the prestigious award for the best resort and spa worldwide. The is a giant step above most resorts ever hope to achieve. However, know this before going- if you book there you are simply stating you are ok with spending alot of money. The food is delicious and it’s price reflects it. Breakfast is included and made in your villa by your butler. The rest of the meals you are paying for, and they won’t help you with arrangements to leave the resort for food, in either transportation or any recommendations for restaurants.
