Bikram Yoga Retreats |
Right away I noticed a significant difference between Ashtanga Yoga retreats and Bikram Retreats. It seems they are on opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to accomodations. |
Bikram yoga retreats- mostly high end luxury accomodations, Ashtanga yoga retreats-very basic and simple accomodations. I think this boils down to the Ashtanga principles of simple and uncomplicated surroundings give you a more focus and relaxed mind. In Bikram-not so much.

Bikram Yoga Retreats
LuxYoga, South France
At first I didn’t want to put this one on our website and here’s why; to get any information on the retreats you need to subscribe to their email list and that to me is kind of, well I just don’t like it. I think information should be free and easily accessible. But this seems like a really fitting retreat for the small luxury retreat page and the Bikram page. The setting of this yoga retreat is a huge house overlooking Nice, France. They teach a couple different styles of yoga here, Bikram being one of them. The typical schedule is a morning class, and a couple of the days there is an extra posture class. Their Bikram retreats are considered a yoga immersion, even going as far to do a video analysis of your postures. They do allow and serve alcohol here which is a little rare in yoga retreats but staying within the luxury category. The accommodations are beautiful and they have plenty of staff to take of your every need.
Type of yoga: Bikram and “Blend” - a combo of Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa.
Child minding available: no
Other Activities (other than yoga) lounging by the pool, exploring the Cote D’Azur area, planned excursions are included in your cost.
